11.10.05 Public Hearing a Success!

Last week, we organized the first public hearing on hostile climate at UC Berkeley's Heller Lounge. The event was an intense, emotional, and revealing look into life as an underrepresented minority student on a UC campus after the end of affirmative action. We had more people who wanted to testify than time to let them and everyone wanted this forum to continue. The consensus within the crowd assembled was one of a need to stand up and fight. We talked through resolutions and plans of action (this blog being one of them!) and voted resoundingly to continue to move forward and build the movement to fight against these attacks.
